A total of 10 trenches were excavated. Each trench measured 1.8m in width, and, in total, 934m of linear trenches were excavated. The western field had made-up ground to a depth of 2m from dumped topsoil from the construction of the M3. Topsoil elsewhere was a brown clayey silt. The natural varied from gravelly grey sand to a compact, mottled grey and yellow silty clay. No archaeological structures, features or deposits were observed or exposed within the trenches. Modern stone drains were seen in Trenches 2 & 3. The proposed development will have no impact on any archaeology. No further work is recommended.
