Archaeological monitoring was conducted to meet conditions set by Kilkenny County Council Planning Department attached to a planning application for the upgrade of an existing septic tank and percolation plant and soil filter at Dungarvan Glebe, Co. Kilkenny.
Archaeological monitoring of groundworks was carried out on 15 July 2024. Prior to the commencement of works, the author inspected the receiving ground to ensure that no archaeology was identifiable at ground surface level. A 360-degree excavator machine removed topsoil within the proposed works area.
No archaeology was identified during the works and no further archaeological mitigation measures are recommended for this project.
