| Archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the permitted development at Grangecastle West, Milltown, Co. Dublin was carried out between March and April 2024. The work was undertaken in response to a planning condition attached to the development and follows on from a previous programme of testing carried out in 2019. The assessment revealed that the south-western section of the scheme falls within the zone of notification of an enclosure (DU017-095), located to the west.
Monitored groundworks primarily consisted of topsoil stripping for the temporary compound area and roadway. During monitoring, nothing of archaeological significance was identified. |
