Archaeological monitoring of Irish Water site investigation works was carried out at The Naul Water Treatment Plant. The proposed upgrade works are within the Zone of Notification for medieval settlement of Naul (DU004-045).
Works monitored consisted of 3 trial pits and 4 slit trenches across the footprint of the existing Naul Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). No evidence for any archaeological finds, features or deposits were noted. Archaeological monitoring indicated all ground within the area of the existing WWTP has been subject to previous disturbance due to quarrying activity.
