Archaeological testing was carried out over the course of five days from 5 September at Cornamaddy and Ballykeeran, Athlone, Co. Westmeath. The trenches targeted geophysical anomalies and open green space. Testing revealed nothing of archaeological significance.
The test trenching identified localised field drains and plough furrows that correspond to clear geophysical trends but nothing of archaeological significance was identified.
