Archaeological monitoring was carried out at Flynn’s Field, Townparks, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Leitrim. The monitoring of the slot trench identified that the site was in an area of made-up ground. The topsoil level of a green area immediately to the east was 1.8m below the site investigation level.
The ground monitored was made up of introduced gravels and stones and this was excavated to a depth of 0.5m. Other services were present in this gravel and stone matrix. No archaeological features or deposits were exposed, and no finds were recovered.
