An archaeological monitoring programme was carried out on 12 December 2023. The development site is located in the townland of Tobermaclugg. The area to be monitored was for two duplex foundations located in the southern end of the Hallwell housing development. There was no remaining topsoil present in these areas and monitoring started at natural subsoil level. Slots for the foundations to be poured into were excavated down to 500mm below surface level using a toothless grading bucket. A total of 8 slot trenches were excavated and there was no archaeology identified during the monitoring programme.
