Archaeological monitoring was undertaken at Grange, Donaghmede, Co. Dublin. The proposed development involves the construction of a modular building to the north of the existing school buildings and the creation of a new access driveway along the eastern site boundary. The site was stripped of sod and topsoil to an average depth of 0.3m across the site. Where subsoil was exposed, it was directly beneath topsoil at an average depth of 0.3-0.4m except along the north of the site adjacent to the existing prefabs where it was evident at 0.2m below the surface. A depth of garden soil was also noted in the north-east corner of the site where subsoil was not exposed until a depth of 0.8m was reached. The subsoil varied from an orange boulder clay to a grey stony sandy soil.

No features or deposits of an archaeological nature were exposed, and no finds were recovered.
