Excavation at Shannonpark 3, as part of the M26 Cork to Ringaskiddy project, Co. Cork, revealed a dumbbell-shaped kiln and a number of early field system enclosures.

The preliminary assessment of the results of the excavation suggests the presence of a cereal-drying kiln, a series of pits, post- and stake-holes, together with a series of ditches that may represent an early field system. Modern agricultural field boundaries and plough furrows were also revealed. There are several features at Shannonpark that extend beyond the limit of excavation; however, there is nothing to suggest the site extends beyond the current road take.
A total of eighteen artefacts including metal objects, ceramics, stone and glass was recovered during excavations and from subsequent sample processing. Archaeological materials including charred plant remains, shell and metalworking debris were also recovered.
