Archaeological monitoring was carried out during the construction of a residential development. The ringfort was preserved in situ within a fenced buffer zone.
A burnt spread was identified during topsoil stripping 20m west of the stream on the eastern boundary. It measured 12m north-south by 7m and was cut by a drain at its northern end. The spread lay within an area of the site to be raised by in excess of 1.4m. No ground works were required within the area of the spread following the removal of topsoil. It was agreed that the spread would be preserved in situ. It was covered with geotextile membrane and appropriate fill and backfilled.
