A programme of archaeological monitoring of topsoil stripping and ground reduction works at construction stage were undertaken in relating to a solar farm development at Dromgarriff South, Whitechurch, Co. Cork. No archaeological features or deposits were encountered during the monitoring
The licence to excavate was originally issued to John O’Connor for an earlier stage of archaeological works consisting of test-trenching of geophysical anomalies and a subsequent small-scale excavation at the site (O’Connor, J. and O’Flaherty, E. 2021 and O’Connor, J. and Gooney, D. 2021). The licence was then transferred to the report author for the purposes of archaeological monitoring.
