Archaeological test trenching in the form of 9 test trenches were excavated within the proposed development site. The test trenches were located within the footprint of the proposed development. Each trench measured 2m in width, and in total 206m of linear trenching was excavated. The test trenches were excavated down to the natural subsoil. Topsoil consisting of a dark greyish-brown clayey sand was removed to a depth of 0.35-0.6m with a yellow and orange sandy clay natural exposed. Linear features, including north-west to south-east aligned furrows and a modern, east-to-west aligned ditch were recorded.
No features of archaeological significance were exposed, and no finds were retrieved.
