Works included a programme of archaeological testing, with the excavation of twenty five trenches; total length of 2419.57 linear metres.
These trenches were excavated within the footprint of the proposed development to assess the potential for subsurface archaeological remains. Constraints on the testing comprised of an access road running across the north-east of Trenches 2 to 10, hay bales and overhead ESB line.
Four areas of burnt mound material were discovered, some of which are heavily disturbed by previous agricultural activity, along with a a small number of isolated pits; two of which showed signs of in-situ burning.
