Archaeological monitoring took place on the central section of watermain rehabilitation along and close to Old Whitechurch Road. Part of the scheme crossed a greenfield area, passing close to holy well CO074-018—-, an associated trackway and potentially, an early church site. A 10m-wide easement was stripped of topsoil; no archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were encountered.
