Following on from an excavation carried out in 2020 in Mooretown (Phase 1) (bulletin ref. 2020:169) in advance of a housing development for Gannon Homes, monitoring of topsoil stripping of an area to the south of the Phase 1 development area was carried out for a compound to facilitate the Phase 1 works (in the Phase 2 development area). Topsoil stripping was carried out in April 2021 and no features, finds or deposits of an archaeological nature were identified.
