Archaeological monitoring of the Main Contracts Works for the New Children’s Hospital was undertaken intermittently from October 2021 through to December 2021. The monitoring works were carried out within the eastern zone of the NCH development site. The zone monitored was made up of 19th-, 20th- and 21st-century fill(s). These fills, included, but were not limited to, trass, boulder clay, and various grades of gravel. Within the work area the original upper levels of the earlier/previous landscape had been dug/scarped off prior to current development works commencing.

No archaeological features were encountered within the monitored area during this reporting period.
