A cist (DG019-017—-), located within the boundary of the proposed development, was inspected on 1 June 2021. A programme of archaeological testing (test trenching) and metal detection of topsoil from the trenches was implemented on 1 July 2021 within the area to be developed to identify and assess any previously unrecorded sub-surface archaeological remains.
A total of four test trenches were machine excavated (Trench 3 was partially excavated by hand), examined and recorded. No archaeological features, deposits or artefacts were uncovered on the site.
