Monitoring of excavation works was undertaken at Gortnagappul, Bonane, Kenmare, Co. Kerry. The testing forms part of a planning application for the construction of a single-story dwelling house complete with septic tank, soil polishing filter and all associated site works (Planning Ref. 18/345). Four test trenches were excavated by a mechanical excavator. The trenches were positioned at c. 10m intervals, 7–12m in length and 2m wide. No archaeology was found.
