Archaeological monitoring of groundworks associated with the development of a 2-storey townhouse containing three bedrooms at 18 Earls Street, Dublin 8, was carried out by Jon Stirland and Donald Murphy. This site was previously assessed by means of test trenching by Dermot G. Moore under licence 98E0380. There are no recorded monuments within this site or directly adjacent to it.
Monitoring took place of site evaluation tests, ground excavation associated with the construction of ground beams and of piling. No evidence of any features or deposits of an archaeological nature were identified.
