Test trenching on the route of the proposed Coonagh – Knockalisheen Distributor Road in Counties Limerick and Clare revealed thirteen burnt stone spreads (four with possible troughs), four burnt stone pits, two pits associated with charcoal production, a probable ring-barrow, two pits of unknown function and a curvilinear feature (?barrow, ?house).
