Test trenching was carried out in advance of an anticipated planning application for the construction of a dwelling at Ashfort, Crecora. LI013-077, an unclassified castle, lies within the land holding. While there is documentary evidence to suggest that a castle could have been located at this site, the test trenching revealed no archaeological features.
