A pre-development test excavation was carried out at a proposed development area at Tomard, Kilberry, Athy, Co. Kildare, on behalf of the Department of Education and Science. It was proposed to construct a complex of school buildings, play areas, ball fields, parking and bus drop-off area. Three test-trenches were excavated across the footprint of the proposed development area and these did not identify any finds, features or deposits of archaeological significance.
