Monitoring was carried out on 2 March 2009 in advance of the construction of a dwelling-house within the zone of archaeological potential of a ringfort at Caher, Ballineen. The mid-brown clayey topsoil was removed over the entire development site and varied in depth between c. 0.3m and c. 0.5m. It overlay a yellow/orange gravelly boulder clay. No archaeological features or finds were noted.
