Monitoring on site was carried out as previous testing on site by Michael Tierney and Margo Ryan (Excavations 2001, No. 1208, 01E0110) had uncovered archaeological features below 21.25m OD. All groundworks were kept above this level by use of a raft foundation. The archaeological layer was protected/indicated by a layer of geotextile membrane placed above it and below the building foundations. No features or finds of an archaeological nature were uncovered in any of the trenches opened.
