Testing was carried out at Nos 40–41 Stoneybatter and Nos 1–3 Blackhall Place, Dublin 7, in July 2007. The proposed development entails the demolition of an existing building and the construction of a part seven-storey, part five-storey mixed-use development comprising 21 dwelling units.
One test-trench was excavated through the yard area of the site in advance of demolition of the existing buildings. Nothing of archaeological significance was noted during the course of testing. It was recommended that a follow-up programme of testing be carried out after demolition of the existing buildings.
