Licensed monitoring was undertaken in areas of archaeological potential within the town of Mitchelstown during the excavation of service trenches for broadband cable. These trenches were excavated through the modern roadway and in areas previously disturbed by modern service trenches. Early 20th-century storm drains and clay service pipes were uncovered. The storm drains were preserved in situ as they are still functional and may aid in flood management (as per the town council). No other archaeological finds or features were encountered.
