Testing was undertaken at Mallow Bridge North and Mallow Bridge Approaches, Mallow, in advance of proposed works to alleviate flooding from the River Blackwater and the Spa Glen tributary. Test-trenching took place on 28 February 2007 using a 13-tonne tracked excavator with a flat, toothless bucket. A total of fourteen trenches were mechanically investigated across the test area. Nothing of archaeological significance was recorded during testing.
