An extension to a shop near the centre of Roscommon town required five test-trenches. There was a generally solid undisturbed clay layer 0.3–0.4 thick in most sectors, but there were no archaeological features or contexts. Subsequent testing (see No. 1513, Excavations 2007, 07E0590) was carried out adjacent to the east of this site.
