An assessment, using machine-excavated test-trenches, was undertaken in advance of the construction of a retail and housing development in Townparks South, Trim, Co. Meath. The trenches were excavated using a 20-ton tracked excavator equipped with a toothless grading bucket and varied considerably in depth between c. 0.3m and c. 1.5m. No features or deposits of archaeological significance were noted within the trenches. One part of the site was not available for assessment due to its usage as a carpark.
