Testing was undertaken at this site in December 2003 (Excavations 2003, No. 2053). Four trenches were excavated in the areas of greatest construction impact. They were excavated to a maximum depth of 2.5–3m and archaeological material was encountered in three of the trenches.
The licence was extended to include monitoring of construction-related groundworks, which began in November 2004. The material encountered during the previous testing was preserved in situ and no significant archaeological deposits were encountered during the monitoring, which will continue in 2005.
