An archaeological assessment with testing was undertaken at a site at the junction of Charlotte Street and Commercial Quay, Wexford. The site is within the zone of archaeological potential for Wexford town. Two test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of a proposed development adjacent to the Centenary Stores. The quay is built on land that was reclaimed in the 19th century. Reclaimed material has been recorded to a depth of more than 2m at locations along the quay.
No archaeological stratigraphy, features or artefacts were recorded in the trenches.
