Testing was carried out at a house site at Knockaville, The Downs, in August 2004. The development lies close to the zone of archaeological constraint for a ringfort, SMR 21:77. Six trenches were excavated using a tracked machine with a flat grading bucket. No archaeological features or artefacts were recorded in any of the trenches.
