Testing was undertaken within the grounds of Clonacody House. According to the Civil Survey of 1654–6, there ‘are the broken walls of an old little castle’ in the grounds. Expansion works necessitated testing as part of planning permission. One trench was sited along the route of a proposed service line that will be laid as part of the expansion works. Nothing was found in the trench that could in any way be related to the castle site.
