Trial-trenching was carried out at a site in Roscommon town on 8 April 2004, following the demolition of a terraced retail premises. Three trenches were excavated at the site. A layer of cobbles covered the rear of the site, under which the remains of two undated denuded walls were exposed, but these could not be examined further.
