Eleven test-trenches were cut in a large field of pasture/damp grazing where it is proposed to build a housing complex on a considerable scale. The constraint limits for a univallate rath in a field 35m to the north (SMR 39:56) encroaches into a small part of this field. No features of any significance turned up in the trenches and all items recovered were modern. However, all groundworks at this overall site are to be monitored in the second quarter of 2005.
