Monitoring of topsoil removal was conducted in advance of this redevelopment. This work uncovered a circular pit cut directly into the subsoil, with a diameter of 0.9m and a depth of 0.15m. The fill of the pit contained many stones and post-medieval debris such as red brick and various fragmentary types of glass. Otherwise nothing of archaeological note was uncovered.

Editor’s note: Although this licence was issued during 2004, the report on the work was not received in time for inclusion in the bulletin of that year.
