Monitoring was carried out at Parkgarve, Ballinvober, Turloughmore, Co. Galway, on 3 December 2003. The proposed development entails the construction of a single dwelling-house. During the course of monitoring, a spread of dark charcoal-rich silt containing human bone was recorded lying directly over limestone bedrock interspersed with yellow boulder clay. All works were immediately halted and the find reported to the Department of Environment, Heritage and Local Government.
