Pre-development testing was undertaken in the vicinity of Kilcolgan Castle in September 2003 in advance of alterations to two existing structures and the construction of a new treatment plant within the courtyard of the castle. Two trenches were excavated in the course of testing. No features or artefacts of archaeological significance were encountered.
