Monitoring was undertaken of the removal of topsoil and overburden prior to the construction of a new access road at Duneight Mill, 34 Green Road, Duneight. The new road was part of an overall scheme for the conversion and renovation of the former two-storey Duneight flax mill and the adjacent engine shed into nine individual dwellings. Duneight motte and bailey (SMR 14:28) are 150m west of the new access road, which runs parallel with the edge of the protected monument boundary. Nothing of archaeological significance was observed during the investigation.
