An assessment was undertaken on a house site at Kinnard East, Ballinskelligs. A possible megalithic structure, five orthostats and a prostrate slab are situated c. 70m west of the proposed development in an adjoining field. There are a further three Recorded Monuments near the development area: a ringfort, SMR 97:24; the remains of Reglaish church and graveyard, SMR 97:25 and 97:46; and an enclosure, SMR 97:24. Test-trenches were excavated on the footprint of the proposed development. No archaeological stratigraphy or artefacts were recorded.
