This site was exposed on 8 June 2002 during stripping operations on Section 2 of the Pipeline to the West. To the north-west of a gently sloping ridge in good pastureland, the site was defined by a discrete subcircular smear of dark soil contrasting with the mid-brown natural deposit. It measured c. 1.2m in diameter and was dug to a maximum depth of 0.23m. In profile the cut consisted of a gently sloping, U-shaped depression containing a single fill of dark brown, silty sand with a low charcoal content and occasional small stones. A fragment of a clay-pipe stem was retrieved from the topsoil 0.9m north-west of the pit.
