Test excavation was carried out on 11 and 12 May 1998 at the property at the rear of Lynch’s in Farrell Street, Kells. The site, which lies within the urban zone of archaeological potential for Kells town, was proposed for the development of parking facilities. A single sherd of post-medieval pottery was recovered from the topsoil.

Editor’s note: Although this excavation took place during 1998, the report was only recently received.
