The proposed development site lies within the zone of archaeological potential for a burial-ground, a possible ringfort and a possible souterrain. A series of test-trenches were excavated along the foundations of the proposed dwelling-house and garage and across the area of the treatment unit to the east of the proposed dwelling. No features or artefacts of archaeological interest were noted.
