There is a record of a holy well in this townland, with the tradition that it was located ‘by the roadside to N. of R.C. church’ (notes from SMR files for SMR 17:64). It was also noted that the ‘track of St Kevin’s knees’ could be seen on the stones of the well.

The development comprised a dwelling-house with associated services. The house is one of three that have been placed along the side of the road; the other two sites have been tested (Excavations 1998, 152–3, 98E0584; Excavations 1999, 220, 99E0280). Nothing was exposed in test-trenches at this site.
