A rath and souterrain were uncovered during monitoring of topsoil-stripping associated with the construction of the Dunleer–Dundalk Bypass Motorway, along the route of a realignment of the County Road 185. Excavations are continuing at the time of writing, and a full report will be included in Excavations 2000.
