Monitoring of a proposed residential dwelling was carried out at Monascreebe, Dundalk, Co. Louth. The development site incorporates a ringfort that exists at the southern end of the field.
A buffer area of 20m was created around the monument, and the northern area of the site was stripped of topsoil. Monitoring of the stripping revealed the presence of subsoil at a depth of 0.3m below the surface. No archaeological features were encountered in the proposed development area, and no further work was required.
