Pre-development testing was carried out as part of the N18/N19 (Ballycasey to Dromoland) Road Improvement Scheme. Two trial-trenches were excavated to natural, and no archaeological features or deposits were encountered. Natural soils of silty clay and silty sand were excavated and found to be sterile and featureless.
