Archaeological testing of a proposed residential dwelling was carried out at Tierney Street, Ardee, Co. Louth. The site of the proposed development lies to the south-east of the urban tower-house known as the Court House on the north side of Tierney Street.
The excavation of three test-trenches did not reveal any evidence of archaeological deposits on this site. All finds were of post-medieval or modern date. A layer of black garden soil, 1m thick, extended over the entire site.
