Three test pits were excavated by mechanical digger to fulfil planning application clauses prior to redevelopment of the site. All pits contained redeposited 13th-century dumped material from a depth of 1.5m-2.5m. This material was probably introduced during land reclamation.

All costs were met by the developer.
