Intermittent monitoring was carried out on a site in Tinnycross townland, north of Ballymore Eustace, Co. Kildare from 2021-2023 in advance of residential development.
The majority of the site was within a former gravel extraction pit and had no archaeological potential. The south-east portion of the site lay beyond the edge of the extraction pit and was assessed. A broad service trench over 3m in depth crossed the area.
A previous testing programme on the site (19E0729) suggested this portion of the site was scarped as part of the reinstatement of the gravel pit. The recent investigations confirm this interpretation. No features were identified within the site during the any of the archaeological investigations.
